Distributed temperature sensing - DTS

Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) uses fibre optic technology to measure temperature along the entire length of a fibre cable, providing a continuous, real-time temperature profile. DTS solutions from Yokogawa offer the ability to measure temperature in remote or hard-to-reach locations, such as large facilities, pipelines and tunnels. This system is particularly useful where traditional temperature sensors cannot be installed or where long-distance monitoring is required.

DTS is widely used in the oil and gas industry to monitor temperatures in large pipelines, which can detect leaks or potential risks. It is also used in infrastructure projects such as tunnels, where fire hazards can be a concern, as well as in refineries and LNG plants for continuous temperature monitoring.
