Instrument enclosure

Instrument enclosures protect sensitive instruments from external influences such as moisture, dust and mechanical impact. They are essential to ensure the longevity and reliability of measuring equipment, especially in demanding industrial environments. Our Instrument Enclosures are robust and made of materials that resist corrosion and extreme temperatures.

What is an instrument enclosure?

An instrument enclosure (also called instrument housing or instrument box) is a protective housing that encloses sensors, electronic boards or complete instrument modules to protect them from moisture, dust, mechanical influences and - in some cases - explosive atmospheres. The aim is to ensure reliability, measurement accuracy and long life even in harsh industrial or outdoor environments.

How to choose the right enclosure

  1. Environmental requirements - temperature, chemicals, explosion zones.

  2. Service time - choose quick locks and support braces if servicing is frequent.

  3. Insulation needs - 30 mm PUR provides the highest energy savings; 15 mm may suffice in milder climates.

  4. Assembly interface - ensure compatibility with existing manifolds and process connections.

  5. Visual inspection - add safety glass windows if indicators must be read without opening the enclosure.
