Description of the programme

The EMCO tracer is used as a primary element in liquid, gas and vapour flow measurement, based on the differential pressure principle. According to this principle, the tracer creates a flow restriction in the pipeline to allow measurement of the resulting pressure drop and flow rate. Our tracer rings have been tried and tested for over 50 years and meet the highest industry and compliance standards.

The MES tracking ring series is designed with a single pressure outlet and fully welded construction.

Installation

Before installation, the groove ring must be kept clean and protected against corrosion and physical damage. It is also important to pay close attention to the sharp edge of the groove ring. Once it is ensured that the ring is clean, install it carefully so that the hole of the groove ring is centred with the centre of the pipeline. The location of the pressure tappings varies depending on whether the ring is used for liquid, gas or vapour. It is not supplied with any safety devices and must not be used at pressures higher than those indicated on the nameplate. The pipework must therefore be fitted with a safety device. However, this type of primary element requires no special maintenance.

Shapes of the ironing box

Square edge concentric as standard. See above illustrations for other shapes

Labelling

The trace ring is labelled with "+" and "-" and the direction of flow.

Pressure drop

Depending on β, for β equal to 0.6: approx. 60 % of the measured differential pressure

Accessories

Single and double shut-off valves and condensing chamber for vapour flow measurement

Tracking forms

Cutting edge concentric, cutting edge eccentric, conical, 1/4 circle, segment. The plate is bevelled on the downstream side except for the 1/4 circle groove
