Statox 560

Statox 560

Statox 560 is an advanced gas detector designed for continuous monitoring of highly toxic gases in safety-critical applications. Featuring SIL2-certified functional safety, integrated self-testing with real gas, and intelligent sensor technology, the Statox 560 ensures maximum availability, reduced maintenance requirements, and superior reliability in the most demanding environments.

Detection of phosgene (COCl₂), chlorine (Cl₂), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen chloride (HCl), ammonia (NH₃), or hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) – with the highest level of safety.

The SIL2-certified functional safety ensures an exceptionally low probability of failure on demand. What makes the Statox 560 unique is its integrated self-test using real gas, ensuring that no faults – no matter how unlikely – remain undetected.

The self-test also helps optimize maintenance planning by providing reliable information about the sensor’s remaining service life. This reduces the need for time-consuming routine inspections.

Characteristics

The Statox 560 is a state-of-the-art gas detector in every respect:

  • The new generation of sensors provides high sensitivity, extremely fast response times, low cross-sensitivity, and plug-and-play functionality.
  • The integrated gas generator produces the target gas to be measured during the self-test. This ensures that you can always be confident that the sensor is operating correctly and remains in good condition.
  • The Statox 560 is a 4–20 mA transmitter.
  • All electronics are fully integrated in an Ex d flameproof enclosure with a viewing window. The self-test is performed automatically once per day at a programmable time. It can also be initiated locally using a magnetic wand. In addition, the self-test can be started remotely from the control room, either via a dedicated pushbutton or through the Statox 503 control module.
  • A magnetic pen is used to configure parameters and access information such as calibration data, exposure history, and maintenance requirements. Since the enclosure does not need to be opened, no hot work permit is required for these operations.
  • The sensor module contains the sensor, the gas generator cell, and a micro-pump. It is designed in accordance with Ex i intrinsic safety standards. No hot work permit is required when working on this module. Alternatively, the entire module can be replaced, allowing all maintenance work to be carried out conveniently in a workshop environment.
