Kemtrak UV Spectra Process Analyser

Kemtrak UV Spectra Process Analyser

Kemtrak UV Spectra is a high-performance UV spectrophotometer for real-time measurement of proteins and APIs in bioprocesses. It has a hygienic design, measures in deep UV (190-440 nm) and has self-verifying systems for easier compliance.

Kemtrak UV Spectra is a high-performance process analyser for real-time measurement of UV absorbance in demanding bioprocess and pharmaceutical applications. The system combines high optical resolution with excellent repeatability, integrated verification and robust digital communication, making it ideal for both development and GMP production environments.

Features and benefits

  • Multi-wavelength deep UV range: Measurement range from 190 to 440 nm with 1 nm steps for precise method setting.
  • High resolution continuous measurement: High-resolution continuous spectrum measurement using a sensitive CMOS linear image sensor. All wavelengths are sampled simultaneously.
  • Zero dead volume and Hygienic design: Hygienic measuring cells without dead volume with sapphire or quartz window, suitable for CIP/SIP (Clean-in-Place/Sterilisation-in-Place) and high pressure processes. Surface roughness down to Ra < 0.38um.
  • Integrated Calibration & Verification: Uses traceable reference standards (NIST compliant) and a dedicated verification port between sensor and cell for compliance without disrupting the process line.
  • Robust industrial design: Stainless steel enclosure with IP65 protection for indoor or outdoor installation, passive cooling and PoE (Power over Ethernet) power supply.
  • Long life of the light source: Mercury-free UV Xenon light source with a lifetime of >10^9 pulses, which corresponds to about two years of continuous operation.
  • Digital connectivity: Support for ProfiNet, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP for smooth integration into modern control systems.

Applications

  • Protein and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) detection with concentration tracking from trace levels to high levels in downstream processing.
  • Chromatographic fractionation with precise control of cut and detection of interfaces.
  • Leakage, carryover- and interface detection.
  • Monitoring of filtration and control of centrifuges/separators.
